Thank you Larry for setting these old 8mm films aside!
I had them converted to digital format so that could be easily viewed and shared with family. They sure brought back many happy childhood memories.

It looks like Dad started filming in 1956 (I was 3 & Richie was almost 2) on Alexander Street in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. It appears that the canal that Dad helped develop hadn't been started yet. Segment #1 takes place in Winter 1956 and then jumps to Spring 1957 in Fairhaven, MI at Irene & Bob Lauer's log house on Algonac Bay.
Question: WHO IS THE GIRL THOUGH?
Answer: My cousin ~ Denise Saia (Thanks Mom)
At 3 minutes:30 seconds > Denise with her Dad Ralph Saia and her Mom Shirley (Sablain) Saia.
Segment #2 is a continuation of #1 and then we're into Christmas 1957 both in St. Clair Shores, MI and Fairhaven, MI again.
Dan (5), Richie (3) & Larry (6 months old)
Segment #3 was filmed during Christmas 1958 and then jumps into the Summer of 1959 on Alexander Street in St. Clair Shores, MI.
Segment #4 continues with additional footage from the Summer of 1959 on Alexander Street in St. Clair Shores, MI. The canal dredging has been completed and Dad has built a boathouse with hoist, and shown within is our cabin cruiser and his powered "water-ski".
Looks like Mom & Dad have transformed the yard into a beautiful garden.
Segment #5 are clips from Christmas 1959.
OK, let's see if I have the Lauer names right...
Starting at 3 minutes:12 seconds: Irene, Edna (Condo), Bob, Sue, Clarence, Tom & Judy
The remaining movies were all filmed in 1964 during a mild Christmas at our new home on Dadio Road in Hamden, Conn.
